Discovery Weeks

  • Lunch

  • Lint roller (after hikes to get ticks)

  • Bandana (sweat)

  • personal hand sanitizer

  • water shoes or sandals (for sprinklers)

  • Hat for sun protection

Adventures on the Water Side

  • Lunch

  • Full refillable Water bottle

  • Snack

  • Bathing suit

  • Towel

  • Sunblock

  • Bug spray

  • Sneakers to hike

  • Sunhat

  • Water shoes (NO CROCS or FLOPS - THEY STICK IN THE MUD AND FLOAT SO KIDS LOSE THEM IN THE RIVER)

  • If you have a Swim tube, bring it on Friday

  • Lint roller to check for ticks.

  • $ for field trip *amount of money will be sent out with Welcome Letters prior to the session beginning.



Explorers Club

Will be updated for August 2023 soon

Each day will have a different check list-

Everyday

  • Come with a Full water bottle (or 2)

  • Wear sunblock and bug spray

  • Lunch and Snack

  • Bring $ for canoeing and camping BBQ *amount of money will be sent out with Welcome Letters prior to the session beginning.

Monday-

  • Sneakers or Boots for hiking (something you don’t mind getting muddy)

  • Lunch and Snack

  • Full Refillable Water bottle

Tuesday- Canoeing

Drop off at Paul T. Given Park/ Pick Up at Nissequogue River State Park

Assume everything you have on your person will get wet

  • Water shoes or shoes that can get wet

  • Clothing that can get wet

  • If bringing along a camera or phone - either bring a dry sack/baggy or something to keep it dry

  • Lunch packed in something that is waterproof

  • Snack

  • If you have a waterproof bag or a bag that can get wet

  • SUNBLOCK

  • Hat

  • Bug spray

Wednesday - Hiking Adventure-

Drop off/Pick Up at Kings Park Bluff

  • Sneakers to hike in

  • pack flip flops or water shoes

  • Backpack

  • Lunch

  • Snack

  • sunblock

  • bug spray

  • Wear a bathing suit under your clothing if you’d like (we are going to wade in a stream)

  • Fully charged phone (download the SEEK by iNaturalist application) If you do not have a phone, no worries, please bring a notebook and pencil

  • suggested - a lint roller for ticks, downloading the iNaturalist app and making an account

Thursday - Sweetbriar Overnight - Camping

  • Snacks (like granola bars) *More than 1

  • Lunch

  • Small breakfast for Friday morning (Muffin, granola bar, ect)

  • Sleeping bag

  • Sheet

  • Tent or Camping Hammock

  • Full water bottle

  • Pillow

  • PJ’s

  • Any overnight toiletries you need

  • Clothing for the next day

  • Hiking Sneakers

  • Flip flops or slip on shoes

  • bathing suit

  • Towel

  • flash light or headlamp

  • Any games you may want to bring for over night or next day
