Thank you for the opportunity to introduce Sweetbriar Nature Center to your organization.
Sweetbriar is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide natural science education and wildlife rehabilitation services to Long Island residents of all ages. Situated alongside the Nissequogue River, on a 54-acre preserve, Sweetbriar encompasses a variety of natural habitats. These include mixed hardwood forests, fields, tidal and freshwater marshes, and the river itself, all supporting a large diversity of wildlife species.
Through hands-on, creative, educational experiences for both children and adults, Sweetbriar fosters understanding, love, and respect for the natural world and the creatures that abide there. We have a butterfly vivarium, an active bee colony, and a mock rainforest, all of which are used in our programs. We offer wildlife rehabilitation with the goal of releasing these animals back into the wild. Due to permanent injuries, some of the animals cannot be returned to the wild and become Education Ambassadors used in our programs.
Through partnerships with corporations such as yours, these services are made possible. With corporate support, we strive to reach more children to enhance their lives and preserve their future through a better understanding of and respect for the natural world. This past year alone we have touched the lives of over 120,000 people through our educational programs and summer discovery day programs. For the past 52 years, we have held the annual Spring Fair and Butterfly & Wildlife Festival, which are our largest and most successful fundraising events.

Each year, our events enable our generous sponsors the opportunity to educate visitors about their support of community-based events. Last year, we had approximately 3000 attendees at each event. Don’t miss out on this valuable opportunity to get your message across to fellow Long Islanders. In addition to the fairs, there are also opportunities to participate in our 2024 Discovery Day sponsorship program. Scholarships range from $350 - $500 to send an underprivileged child to Discovery Day for a week. Please see below for information on our Discovery Day sponsorship program:
