Summer Discovery Camps - Ages 3-4, 5-7, 8-10 and 11-14
Sweetbriar Nature Center presents exciting educational programs over the summer vacation. Each day children will participate in hands-on activities, nature crafts, games and first hand experiences with our resident animals. It is our goal to help youngsters gain greater appreciation and understanding of the natural world and the wondrous living things we share it with.

Natural Wonders for Pre-Schoolers
Let your child experience the wonders of the natural world during our pre-school camp.A Sweetbriar educator, through hands-on activities, stories and live animals will help your child appreciate the wonders of nature. Please bring a snack.
Who: Ages 3 and 4
When: July 12-16 & August 2-6 (Full Weeks)
How Much: Members: $125, Non-members:, $150
When: July 27 & 29, Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30am to Noon
How Much: Members: $50, Non-members: $60
Wildlife Academy
Mon. & Wed. or Tues. and Thurs.
When: Continuous through 2010/2011 school year
9am to noon or 12:30pm to 3:30pm
How Much: $100/month/child for 1 day per week
$180/month/child for 2 days per week
Earth Investigators
The Earth not only contains amazing living things, but has incredible features upon its surface. During this week, children will become Earth Investigators and discover the wonders of non-living and living parts of the planet, from rocks and fossils to plants and animals.
Who: Ages 5 - 10
When: July 12-16, July 26-30, 9:00 to 3:00 pm
Adventure and the Arts
Adventures and the arts are perfect partners. During this week, children will go on adventures in the natural world and learn about animals and nature through guided explorations, drama, music and drawing.
Material Fee of $5.00

When: August 2-6 , August 16-20, 9:00 to 3:00 pm
Amazing Animals I & II
The Earth is filled with animals of all shapes and sizes. During the week, children will meet and learn about a variety of animals. Children will explore our preserve in search of wildlife and be involved with fun activities that will help them gain a better understanding of the animals with which we share the Earth. AA 1 is not required to enroll in AA II.
Who: Ages 5 - 10
When: July 19-23, August 23-27, II -August-30-Sept. 3 (A continuation of Amazing Animals), 9:00 to 3:00 pm
How Much: Program Costs for Earth Investigators, Adventures and Arts, and Amazing Animals I & II
Members: $230/child/ week
Non-Members: $265/child/ week
$20/ day extended care to 5 p.m.
Field Trip Fee of $15 to $25/child due the week of camp
Science Seekers
Become a scientist by boldly tackling different science challenges everyday. Build the strongest bridge, create an airplane that flies the farthest, and much more. Celebrate your successes the last day with a special science guest.
Who: Ages 5-10
When: August 9-13, 9am to 3pm
How Much: Members: $240/week, Non-members: $275/week
The Explorers Club
Sweetbriar will be the home base for the launching of this exciting experience. We will boldly go beyond the borders of the preserve to explore new frontiers, including canoeing the Nissequogue, hiking the Greenbelt trail, and adventuring to the forests, wetlands, and beaches of Long Island. A camp out with barbecue, campfire, and night hike will be offered.
Who: Ages 11-14
When: July 5-9, July 26-30, & August 9-13, 9:00am to 3:00pm
How Much: Members: $330/week, Non-members: $380/week
Field Trip Fee of $5-$25 due the week of camp
Explorer’s Club Alumni
For teens who have been to at least two, and preferably three Explorer’s Clubs. There will be an overnight stay at an outdoor center, a major hike in the Pine Barrens, and a kayak trip on the South Shore. Enrollment is limited so register quickly.
