Fall Weekend Programs 2017

Pre-registration is required for all public programs unless specified.    Scouts and members receive a $2 discount for each person in their family for all weekend programs other than special events like our Spring Festival and Wildlife and Craft Fair.

Taps and Talons

Sweetbriar Nature Center in Smithtown will be hosting 10 plus craft breweries, animal presentations and live music.  The funds generated go to wildlife rehabilitation and nature education.   For more information call 631-979-6344 or go to our website

Who: Adults 21 and over only
How much: $30 per person at the door, $15 for designated drivers

Help support our rehabilitated wildlife!  Drop by Sweetbriar Nature Center and browse through our yard sale.  Items include household goods, collectibles, antiques, fabric, aquariums and more.   Our volunteer gardeners will be having a plant sale also.  Each dollar helps care for our animals.  Items include collectibles, antiques, knick-nacks, household goods, terrariums and aquariums, and a plant from our gardeners will be on sale.

Mommy and Me Painting P arty at Sweetbriar Nature Center

Please join artist and instructor, Alycia D’Avino, for a fun and educational session of painting.  She will guide you and your child step-by-step as together you create a spring themed painting.

Creatures Of the Night  

Come down to Sweetbriar in the darkness of the night right on Friday the 13th..   Meet some nocturnal animals that might creep you out but are in actuality really cool.  Then visitors will embark on a night walk i to enjoy the peace and quiet and may be call in an owl or two.  Dress warmly and bring a flashlight just in case.

Who: Families with children 7 and up

How much: $10 /person, discounts available for scouts
